A few disjointed thoughts:
Albert Pujols is on pace for 82 homeruns and 209 runs batted in.
How about the Pistons doing their best U.S. Olympic basketball team impersonation? No one will roll over just because you think you're good, fellas.
Why in god's name does anyone find Paris Hilton attractive in any way?
Why does Jim Rome pimp Nascar but blast soccer? Which hobby would you rather your kid took up?
Two of the three best players left in the NBA playoffs (Nash, Nowitzki, Wade) are not black. Neither were the two best college players (Redick and Morrison) nor the best freshman (Hansbrough).
Why no Gambit ever in the X-Men movies?
I started summer classes today. My accounting prof pronounces "cash" as "caysh." It's freakin' awesome.
Shouldn't pickles be called "pickled cucumbers"? (since lots of things get pickled.)
Between Aniston and Jolie, I take Jolie no question.
What's gotten into Shaq and the Heat? And in related news, Ben Wallace makes Shaq look like Mark Price on the free throw line.
Did Nip/Tuck get cancelled?
If Jason Williams is "White Chocolate" what is Tim Duncan?
Why all the ballyhoo regarding Reggie Bush not being able to wear his college number 5? Mario Williams wore #9 in college but can't in the NFL. I don't hear him crying.
Man, how I wish that the Suns had Amare! (Hey, I'd even settle for Kurt Thomas...)
Movie Review: X III: The Last Stand. First off, this series has always carried interesting undertones in terms of bigotry and prejudice to those deemed diffferent, especially this third installment. And the twist on the classic protagonist/antagonist relationship (Professor X and Magneto are essentially on the same side and are, in fact, old friends) has always been unique. Also intriguing in X III was the idea of a "cure" for mutation. Think of your own flaws. If you could, would you take an antidote to cure you of your malady? Very interesting ethical implications arise as medicine creeps nearer and nearer to genetic engineering in the real world. So the movie has a solid backbone of substance to go along with the expected bells and whistles. Good action flick, dope effects. There were several surprising twists involving the demises of key characters. And the *spoiler alert* reemergence of Jean Grey as the tipping point in the battle betwixt humans and mutants, including her background with Prof X, was sick. The one beef I had was some incredibly cheesy and clicheed dialogue (including maybe the worst President of the United States performance in cinema history.) I am a fan of the series and I think this is the illest of the three movies. Grade: B .
